St. Mark's

Our History

St. Mark's has a long and rich history.  It was founded in 1922 as a mission and became a self-supporting parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles in 1943. In the mid-1950s the church moved to its current location on Sherman Way. Various building projects and improvements over the past six decades have served the community well.  St. Mark's currently shares space with the Valley Charter Middle School, a Korean Congregational Church, a Ugandan Community Church, a Filipino Independiente Church, a nursing school, civic groups and over a dozen 12-Step groups. The beautiful Parish Hall and attached kitchen is a popular site for wedding receptions and quinceañera celebrations.
